Societies > The Texel Sheep Society

The British Texel Sheep Society is the UK's largest pedigree sheep society, based at Stoneleigh Park, home of the Royal Agricultural Society's Exhibition Centre near Warwick, in the heart of England.

The Texel Breed is famed for its exceptional carcass qualities, which has resulted in the Breed becoming the dominant terminal sire used in the UK. In recent years the Breeds hardiness and recognised survivability has resulted in Hill and Upland producers using Texel Rams to produce store lambs and breeding females which are more marketable than the pure hill breeds that they replace.
